World leading Insight is a critical enabler to the LTA performance mission of becoming one of the most respected nations for player development. Specifically, we focus on:
- delivering outstanding bespoke analysis to enable players to win matches and support their unique long term player development.
- Understanding the ‘Insights into the game’ to underpin our decision-making regarding player selections, programme investments and knowledge of the global standards associated with the development of elite tennis players.
- Using relevant data and technology approaches to amplify our players’ training and competition performance.
To deliver this ambition, an exciting and pivotal Performance Analyst role has become available within the Performance Intelligence and Analysis team. This position will have a specific focus on delivering Insight into the LTA Men’s Team, and will have the primary responsibilities to:
- Deliver front line applied video and statistical solutions to a targeted number of male British players and coaches (LTA and players Coaching Teams). The support will have a significant impact on both the player’s long-term development and directly within tournaments to impact wining matches (scouting opponents and reviewing our own performance). This bespoke player support will be directed towards male players across the ITF Juniors and Pro Tour levels.
- Support the LTA’s strategic decision making with relevant game intelligence on the players progress and wider benchmarks in the Men’s Game.
- Working alongside the wider multidisciplinary team, deliver daily training-based support with a significant focus on developing the use of Ball and Player tracking technology. Please note this will involve a significant daily commitment to deliver out of the National Training Centre
- Answer relevant performance questions using contemporary data approaches and develop actionable dashboard solutions which deliver relevant intelligence to players, coaches, and the wider player support teams.
What are we looking for?
- An enthusiastic and creative ‘doer’ who will commit fully to the opportunity and wants to work in a unique and diverse elite sport’s setting.
- Someone who enjoys working both independently, and within a small dynamic team to support the needs of our players, coaches, and strategic decision makers. Being innovative, working collaboratively across people, and being able to simplify data workflows to ‘add value’ are critical.
- An individual with a deep empathy, passion, and knowledge of High-Performance Tennis, with relevant an applicable Tennis IQ.
- Outstanding technical skills in key performance analysis software’s / workflows with strong data analysis skills.
- A person who will thrive in the ‘day to day’ of coach facing PA support, and in parallel can push the boundaries of how we deliver impactful data insight and intelligence. A mindset to pilot, iterate and problem solve is key.
- We are open to candidates at the both the start of their career through to highly experienced practitioners across Tennis, coaching and Analysis roles.
