Development Tennis Advisory Group Chairperson – LTA Board
The recruitment process to appoint an LTA Development Tennis Advisory Group Chairperson for a three year term is now open.
The LTA is the Governing Body for tennis in Britain, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man, responsible for developing and promoting the sport across the country. Our vision is ‘Tennis opened up’, and our mission is to grow tennis by making it relevant, accessible, welcoming and enjoyable. We are here to govern and develop tennis in Britain, from grassroots participation through to the professional game.
The purpose of the Development Tennis Advisory Groupis to act as an advisory forum for the Executive of the LTA on identified strategic activities, with a focus on development and participation. It also helps facilitate collaboration, feedback and support from the LTA Council and National, County and Island Association volunteers. The Group makes recommendations and provides advice on the effective execution of relevant areas of the strategy.
The Development Tennis Advisory Group Chairperson will provide effective leadership and direction to Group members and ensure they are aware of their obligations, and that the Group complies with its responsibilities as set out in the Terms of Reference.
The successful applicant will have a strong understanding of the sporting landscape (ideally tennis), sport development and the volunteering sector. To ensure the Group is effective the Chairperson will need to be an excellent communicator, coach and leader, and have the ability to communicate and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
The chairperson of the Development Tennis Advisory Group will also be an LTA Board Member and so will need to have the ability to be flexible in their approach between being a Chairperson of the Development Tennis Advisory Group and an active and effective participant at the LTA Board.
The role of the Development Tennis Advisory Group Chairperson is not accompanied by financial remuneration, although reasonable expenses may be claimed.

Shortlisting will take place on Wednesday 17th August with interviews for the position being held on the afternoon of Wednesday 24th August and the morning of Thursday 25th August with members of the LTA Nomination Committee.
You will be informed by 17:00 on Thursday 18th August if you have been shortlisted to interview.
Shortlisted candidates will be given an opportunity, if required, to have an informal discussion with Vicky Williams, LTA People Director, prior to interviews being held.
